Mission Statement
The Adolescent Treatment Center’s mission is to provide co-occurring disorder services in a manner that preserves each resident’s dignity, worth and increases each resident’s potential for recovery.
Program Philosophy
Co-occurring Disorder is a condition characterized as having at least one mental health related problem as well as a substance use problem. It damages an individual’s family, education, legal status, financial stability, physical and mental health, reputation and life. This condition is progressive and so the symptoms become more severe the longer the problem goes untreated. The goal of treatment is to assist and support the resident’s efforts to alter their harmful pattern of chemical use.
Co-occurring Disorder is a treatable condition with a potential for achieving continued abstinence/ sobriety. ATC’s treatment includes the Twelve (12) Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous and Narcotics Anonymous, Rationale Recovery, and Holistic approaches, etc. These fundamental steps are integrated throughout the treatment program and supplemented with other theoretical approaches and strategies, which are designed to support the resident’s recovery.
Treatment at ATC will be provided by a multidisciplinary treatment team consisting of the Unit Supervisor, Registered Nurse, Medical Director, Mental Health Professional, Licensed School Personnel, Substance Use Counseling Professionals (LADC’s and Counseling Assistants), Treatment Coordinator, and the Program Director. This team will rely upon counseling practices, modified as appropriate, in working with this specific population. The scope of these services encompasses crisis intervention, assessment and case management, continuing care and family education groups.
Each resident / family has the right to freedom of choice and self-determination, for personal acceptance, responsibility, and involvement in the treatment process.
Treating the entire family is considered to produce the greatest success; therefore, efforts are made in all cases to involve other family members in the treatment process. When possible, this supports the family members in gaining skills necessary to care for the resident when they return home.
All treatment will be provided in a courteous and respectful manner. Each resident / family has the right to freedom of choice and self-determination, for personal acceptance, responsibility, and involvement in the treatment process.
